The big picture

The HR department is the information center for the most important assets of any organization – the employees. Maintaining a well-organized HR department is imperative for cultivating a successful and satisfied workplace.

Nobody knows this better than Ali Al Mansoori, Manager - National Trainee Program at du (Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company). Company employs over 67 nationalities and thrives on its multicultural corporate environment. Woven into the fabric of the company are over 460 UAE nationals. Ali’s job is to make sure that every Emirati has a clear career path and all the support along the way.

One of the key initiatives of National Development was creation and development of MASAR program that has been launched over a year ago. This cutting edge development plan puts on track Emirati employees across the board, from entry level employees all the way to executive level. With help and guidance of Ayadh Farooq, Director National Development (please see article “the Rounded Thinker”) a big picture surfaced. In order to have a successful Emiratisation initiative company has to have systems to manage, track and measure effectives. This >>rounded thinking<< approach led Ali to create first of its kind National Development Information System. This platform helps du to manage all mission critical processes impacting careers of Emirati employees.

National Development Information System is modular platform that readily integrates with HRMS and other HR solutions (e.g. applicant tracking system, training solutions, etc). This solution enables organization to track progression of Emiraties throughout their employment life cycle. Emirati employees are tracked from the job application through training and development, promotions all the way to the exit interview. The significance of this platform is in its unique customization build around best practices in Emiratisation.

Reporting and analytics opened up a whole new world to National Development team and offered solutions that led to significant improvements the way Emirati human capital of du is managed.
