UNB and EIBFS sign deal to boost Emiratisation

Union National Bank, or UNB, has signed an agreement with the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS) to sponsor the Derasatee Programme, an initiative under which young Emiratis are offered diploma courses in financial studies.

Upon completion of the programme, they are then entitled to be placed in a financial institution. It is aimed at increasing Emiratisation in the financial industry.

Through the agreement, UNB will sponsor a group of students joining the programme to receive a Diploma in the financial studies accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The bank will offer the students a job opportunity in addition to a monthly stipend during their study. The programme will match the education output to the requirements of the labour market, and will offer an educational opportunity to UAE Nationals contributing to their development.

“We are looking forward to the results of the programme, as we constantly encourage UAE nationals to pursue rewarding careers in Finance,” said Abdulla Alrashedi, Senior Vice-President and Head of Management Services Group of UNB. Originally published by Khaleej Times.
