A group of students has recently completed Du's summer trainee programme

Part of Du's Emiratisation strategy which aims to provide Emiratis with an experience which will help them start their career, the programme provided the students with valuable first-hand work experience and mentorship from Du professionals.

While some members of the group were trained in retail operations, the rest worked with du's Technology Division. The summer trainee programme was held between 24 June and 20 August, 2009, and Du plans to continue it in the future.
"As a UAE national company, we are committed to the cause of supporting UAE talent through our emiratisation strategy. We welcome the energy and ideas that young people bring to the workplace and we thank the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE for their support. We are delighted to give Emirati students the opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic work environment. We congratulate the students on completing this rigorous programme and sincerely hope this experience will prove to be valuable for them as they pave their way to become successful business leaders of tomorrow. Our desire is continue with this in the future as well."
said Fahad Al-Hassawi, EVP, Human Resources, Du.

The retail trainees focused on promoting du's range of products and services and interacted face-to-face with existing and potential customers thereby getting a first-hand exposure to Du's brand values that sets it apart in the UAE market. In addition to the retail trainees, du trained students in its Technology Division. These assisted in designing fixed access networks for both business and residential customers and contributed to a variety of network development projects in Dubai.
